Some features of the mobile app are built around channels created by your club or association to collect members together. Channels can be created based on things like your member type, interests, chapter, and more. Your organization may have many channels, and each member may belong to more than one channel.
Choosing a Channel in the App
When you tap the Channels icon, you'll see a list of all the channels you can access, with a green dot next to your current channel. Tap any other channel to select it.
You will see a small message at the bottom of the screen to confirm your channel selection, and if you are viewing an app page that uses channels, the page will refresh to reflect the new channel. On any other page, nothing will happen. When you later go to a page that uses channels, the most recently selected channel will be active.
When you select a channel, the Chat, Meets, Directory, Calendar, and Polls functions will be limited to that channel. For example, a member can be added to a channel for all active members, a channel for members of the club's Scholarship committee, and a channel for members interested in volunteering. When the member selects the channel for the Scholarship committee and chooses Chat, the chat participants are limited to other members of the same committee.
Managing Your Channel Memberships
In your Member Profile, under Mobile App, choose the option to edit your channel memberships.
Automatic Channels are based on other factors related to your membership, like interests you selected, committees you're involved with, or even your member type. Look for the text in italics to learn more. You can't add or remove yourself from an Automatic Channel without changing the item it's based on, like removing yourself from a committee. If you need help, contact your website administrator.
On the contrary, Optional Channels can be joined and left at any time. Select the Join icon to join a channel or the Leave icon to remove yourself from a channel.
