Text Messaging is an extra cost feature that allows clubs and associations to send text messages to members and non-members.
Text Messaging Fees
There is a monthly charge for text messaging whether or not you send a message. You are also charged a messaging rate for each successfully delivered message (you won't be billed for users refusing messages).
To see the full list of current Text Message rates, you can visit the Text Messaging Options page in the Text Messaging module and click the link in the instruction text at the top of the page.
Activation and Setup
To activate the feature, navigate to the Control Panel > Communications Tab > Admin Functions > Text Messaging.
Check the box to accept the associated fees and activate your account for texting.
After you activate text messaging, we'll enable the feature on your website and assign your club a phone number. While we're working on your account, you can set up categories, modify options, and create messages, but you won't be able to send any messages.
The phone number assigned to your club will be local to your organization based on your club address.
Notifying Your Members
Members must opt-in to receive text messages, so you'll need to notify them of the new feature and instruct them to opt-in through their Member Profile under Contact Info. Non-members must opt-in when they click the Add Me To Your Mailing List link or fill out any other form on your website, including a mobile number (like an event registration). Administrators cannot check this box on behalf of members or non-members.
