The Versioning system allows you to configure and save separate versions of your website's template. You can use this feature to create a new template without changing the live version of your website, for example, to show your Board of Directors a new design or to test out different website layouts.
Each section (header, footer, left, right) is saved separately in their editors, and then all sections and styles are saved together to form one template version.
The Layout Versions Manager lets you view and manage each saved template. The screen includes a search panel, allowing you to search through versions by title, date created, date to be deleted, and status. The search results grid shows the version title and number, status, who edited the version, the date it was created, the date to be deleted (if applicable), and the Maintain Column.
Previewing a Version
Select the Edit (pencil) icon in the Maintain Column to view the template in the Website Look & Feel preview screen. Each saved section will load into the preview screen, and each section and style option can be edited further using the options in the Site Editor Toolbar.
Select the Configure (wrench) icon to change the name of a version.
Saving a Version
Click Save Version in the Site Editor Toolbar or at the top of the screen to save your new design as a new version. This option does not apply your changes to the website. All saved look & feel versions can be accessed by selecting the Versions icon on the site editor toolbar.
Activating and Applying a Version
Click Save & Apply in the Site Editor Toolbar to save your new design as a new version and apply the changes to your live website.
To save a version, you must have a login/profile widget.
Deleting a Version
Click the Delete icon to delete a version. The version will not be deleted immediately but rather queued for deletion. Once you mark a version to be deleted, the Delete icon is replaced with an Undelete icon, allowing you to cancel deleting the version.
