ClubExpress provides special functionality for villages organized around a “Hub-and-Spoke” model, with a central office handling all village operations and satellite villages operating locally, including their own members, volunteers, and contractors.
Some Hub-and-Spoke villages serve a large area (for example, a county that could be 20-30 miles across). In contrast, others serve a much smaller area (for example, a collection of neighborhoods within a town or community.) However, members join at the “hub” or central village level in each case. There is one website, one set of member types, and one office where all service requests and member contacts are handled.
Hub-and-Spoke functionality allows each member, volunteer, and contractor to be assigned to a “spoke” or local community or neighborhood. These are called “Metro Areas” in the ClubExpress lexicon. Then, the main services calendar can be filtered by metro area. When a service request is created, the list of available volunteers or contractors can also be filtered by metro area to ensure that only volunteers or contractors who are geographically close to the member will be contacted. However, you also have the option to search for and link volunteers or contractors who may be a little further away (for example, the “next town over.”)
Non-“Hub-and-Spoke” villages that just want to track the neighborhood where a member lives within the more extensive service area of the village can also use this functionality.
