Configuring a Custom Page
The Custom Pages screen is where you will add custom pages to your website.
Each custom web page you create will appear in a grid with options in the Maintain column. View a description of each icon in the Maintain column by hovering over the legend icon in the header of the Maintain column.
Add a Custom Page
On the Custom Page Manager screen, select Add Custom Page to add a page.
Configure the custom page
The Add Custom Page pop-up window is where you will configure the details of your custom page.
- Page Name – Enter the title of the page. The title is shown in the Search Results panel of the Custom Page Manager.
- Menu Text – Enter the title that should be used in the menu or sub-menu for the page. This does not add the page to a menu, it only designates the title when it is added.
- SEO/Browser Title – Enter the title that should be used in your web browser when the page is opened. A good title can greatly increase your visibility in search engines.
- Category - Select the approrpriate category from the drop-down menu. These categories were configured in Steps 5-7.
- Visibility - Select the appropriate option.
- Any Web Site Visitor - Members (regardless of whether they are logged in) and non-members can view this page.
- Members Only - Only logged-in members can view this page.
- Admins Only - Only logged-in administrators can view this page.
Custom Page Visibility and Non-Members
If you select Any Web Site Visitor as the visibility setting for a custom page, but only place it on the Member Menu, you might think only members would be able to see the page. However, if a member shares a link to the page with a non-member, the non-member can still view the page through the direct link.
- (Optional) Quick Link Name - Enter the name to be used in a Quick Link for this page. Quick Links are shortened links you can use for content on your website. The Quick Link will be yourclub.clubexpress.com/Quick Link Title
- Active - Select this box to make the page active so it can be added to a menu once it is complete.
- Select Save to save your changes and return to the Custom Page Manager screen.
Find your page
On the Custom Page Manager Screen, select Search to view the Custom Page you created, as well as options for editing the page.
Creating a Custom Page Version
There are two ways to create a version of a page to edit.
- Locate the custom page you created. In the Maintain column, select the Edit icon to navigate to the Page Builder.
- Select the Versions icon to Navigate to the Version Manager Screen.
In the Version Manager screen, select Create Main Version to create a version of the page you will edit.
Desktop and Mobile Versions
Every page of your website is mobile friendly, including the custom web pages you create. Creating a Main Version of your custom page means the version will be visible on both desktop and mobile devices. If you want a page to be visible only on mobile devices, select Create Mobile Version. The editing instructions discussed in the remaining parts of this guide apply to creating and editing both desktop and mobile pages.
