Emails can be sent to complex distribution lists, such as "all active members of a specified type + members of two specified committees + non-members in the Press category + the following three individuals." You can also save these distribution lists for use at any time. ClubExpress builds the list dynamically when each email is about to be sent, so it's' always up-to-date. The system automatically removes duplicates so that each recipient receives only one email, even in multiple parts of the distribution list.
Note that distribution lists with multiple options act using "OR" conditions; each option is additive to the list. You can also exclude members or groups from your emailing list.
You can create distribution lists through the Configure menu or by saving a list from an email you've created.
Navigate to the Control Panel > Communications Tab > Website Modules > Blast Emailing.
Adding a New Distribution List
Select Configure – Saved Distribution Lists to create, view, and edit your saved lists.
Click the Add Distribution List button to create a new list.
Start by clicking the drop-down to select one of the available options. Some options will then prompt for additional information. To find a list easily, begin typing in the To drop down menu to narrow down the list of distribution lists.
Click the Add button to add each To option to your distribution list, or the Exclude button to exclude the group from your list. If you make a mistake, you can click the Remove (trashcan) icon to remove this option from your list. Name your list, then save it.
In the future, you can modify the groups included in the list or delete the list using the options in the Maintain Column.
Saving a Distribution List from an Email
When you're creating a new email, and you build a new distribution list, check the box to Save as a pre-defined list and name it.
Expand the Distribution List panel in an email to get a preview of the number of recipients.
