Control Panel>Communications>Website Modules>Emailing
To start a new blast email from the Emailing module, click on the Add Emailing button on the Emailing Administration page. You will then be taken to the New Emailing page where you can begin working on your new draft email.
There are four steps to creating a new email:
1. Basic Info
- Click on the Edit Basics button to configure your email basics.
- From Address & From Name: enter the email and name that will appear as the sender of the email.
- Send: select when the email will be sent. Now will send the email when you hit the Ready for Delivery button. On This Date/Time will allow you to schedule the email to be sent automatically at a specific future time.
- Note: you will still need to click the Ready for Delivery button or the email will remain in Draft status and will not be sent.
- Subject: A subject is required for all emails.
2. Distribution List
- Saved Distribution List: If you have sent an email before, you may have saved a list to be reused. If a previously Saved Distribution List matches your current desired recipients them you can select it from the list and his the Save button.
- Create a New List: You can use this option to select the email recipients from a drop-down of lists.
- To find a list easily, begin typing in the To drop down menu to narrow down the list of distribution lists.
- Once you find the list of recipients that matched your needs you can select it and click the Add button and then Save to apply it to your email.
- You can add multiple lists to a single email. The email will go to everyone on any of the added lists.
- To find a list easily, begin typing in the To drop down menu to narrow down the list of distribution lists.
3. Body
- To create the body of your email, click and drag the 1 Column Text element form the Elements section over to the large white space on the lest side of the screen.
- Then click the pencil icon to open the Text Edit window for that element.
- You can now type the body of your email and use the available font control tools.
- Once the body of the email is written, Click the Save button to save your changes.
4. Send
- At the bottom of the New Emailing page there are four options:
- Save and Continue: Save all of your progress and remain on the New Emailing page to continue editing.
- Save and Close: Save all of your progress and return to the Emailing Administration page. You can pick up on the draft at a later time by searching for your draft on the Emailing Administration page.
- Save as Template: Save only the body of you email to be used as a template for future emails.
- Send Test(s): Send a test copy of you email to up to four email addresses.
- Ready for Deliver: Send the email if it was configured to send Now, or save the email to automatically be sent if the email is configured to be sent On This Date/Time.
