Transportation requests can be added as a round trip request. Round trips can also be split into two separate requests, for example, if the destination they're returning to isn't their starting destination.
A member requests a trip to a medical appointment from their home, but when they get picked up from their appointment they want to return to a family member's home instead.
Navigate to the Control Panel > Services Tab > Admin Functions > Member Services.
Use the search panel to find the service request you want to split. We recommend filtering your search to show only Transportation Request Types.
The option to split a transportation request will only appear when:
- The service request is a transportation request,
- The request is a "round trip" request,
- The status of the request is either requested, pending or confirmed,
- Either Initial Pickup Time and/or Appointment Time is specified and,
- Either Return Pickup Time and/or Dropoff Time is specified.
Click the Split Request icon to split the service request into two requests.
Hover over the icon to view the name as a tooltip.
When you select the Split Request icon, a new transportation request is created to reflect the second leg of the round trip originally created. The new request is assigned a new request number, and the status is that of the original request. The new request is created using the Return Pickup Time and/or Dropoff Time specified in the original request as the Initial Pickup Time/Appointment Time, and the new request is set to one-way. The starting location of the request is set to the destination of the original request. The original request is changed to a one-way trip, and the Return Pickup Time and/or Dropoff Time fields are blanked out.
Service providers from the original request are not copied to the new request.
